FINANCIAL SERVICES CASE STUDY

Transforming AV Control for a Financial Services Leader

Lucid partnered with a global financial services organisation that needed a more dependable and scalable approach to meeting room technology. Their estate had grown rapidly in scope, and while a Cisco Codec formed the foundation of their setup, the challenges they faced stemmed not from the hardware itself but from evolving needs and expanding feature requirements that were beginning to outstrip what could be developed and deployed effectively.

Lucid’s specialist team worked to simplify the technology stack, create future-proof AV control paths and deliver an improved user experience that could be rolled out across the entire estate with confidence.

AV Control System Upgrade

video room meeting

The Challenge

The client’s meeting rooms were equipped with Crestron touch panels configured to mirror the evolving Cisco Navigator interface. While effective for a short period, this approach demanded continuous synchronisation of both platforms. As room specifications became more advanced, the dual-interface method created unnecessary complexity. This resulted in:

  • Inconsistencies in the user experience between different rooms.
  • Repeated programming effort with each platform update.
  • Slower deployment when introducing new technology or features.

The goal was to simplify how users interacted with the system and reduce operational strain, while still providing headroom for expansion into larger and more multifunctional spaces.

User interface being use in meeting

The Solution

Lucid reconfigured the control approach by placing the Cisco Navigator at the centre of the user interface strategy. Rather than splitting responsibilities between two touch interfaces, Crestron panels now served as an intelligent extension to support enhanced functionality when needed.

This unified method allowed the client to introduce additional capabilities without complicating the user experience, including:

  • Divisible Spaces – supporting both small meetings and combined room layouts.
  • DSP Integration – delivering improved audio clarity and control.
  • MFR and MCR Driven Spaces – allowing easy management of high-performance room designs.

With Cisco Navigator acting as the primary visual and control layer, users now interact with a consistent interface wherever they are in the building.

The Outcome

By reducing system duplication and removing the need to align two separate interfaces, the organisation has benefited from:

  • A single, recognisable control experience across every location.
  • Faster expansion and adaptation to new room builds.
  • Lower maintenance and reprogramming requirements.
  • Confidence that the system is prepared for future upgrades.

Lucid’s AV consulting and bespoke audiovisual software development have enabled the client to modernise their meeting room estate with technology that is both flexible and robust.
