I oversee projects for corporate clients such as Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan. My journey in the AV sector began with Row Seven, a software house, and AVM, an integrator in the UK. I enjoy working with the Lucid team and the flexibility the company offers. My greatest strengths lie in staying calm under pressure and being able to relate to people, which is essential in managing high-stakes projects. My career path naturally led me to this role after working with other companies in the AV sector.

I specialise in project management, commissioning and system deployment. With a background in telecoms, I studied in Wellington, NZ, and started my career with Telstra Clear. After moving to the UK for an ‘OE’ (Overseas Experience), I worked for AVM and Row Seven before joining Lucid. In the AV industry, I focus on managing projects and operations, ensuring the successful delivery of systems. As a Crestron Certified Master Programmer and holding a New Zealand Certificate in Engineering, I take pride in being responsible for a large portion of Lucid’s revenue and becoming a Partner of the company. I get a sense of accomplishment from seeing systems come to life and watching the Lucid team exceed their goals.

I’m passionate about family and all things related to sports, particularly New Zealand sport. I also enjoy mountain biking, kayaking, skiing and rugby. I believe my best attributes for diligence and work ethic have been inherited from my parents and siblings. My whole family is incredibly supportive of me and this has enabled me to accomplish what I have done in my career so far. My ambition is to balance running a successful business while being a devoted husband and father, ensuring that both roles complement each other to lead to personal fulfilment.

I guide the strategic direction of the company while still being hands-on with enterprise developments. I also assist our Developers with design and coding challenges. Currently, I manage our UBS account and I’m the lead Developer for Blueprint. Before joining Lucid, I spent 13 years at Crestron, with my last role as EMEA Training & CSP Manager. I’ve always loved solving puzzles, and working in software development within AV brings its own unique set of challenges, which keeps my problem-solving skills and logical thinking engaged. Originally, I was on track to design aircraft, but after a friend helped me get a job in acoustics, from there I found my way into the AV industry. After years of traveling for work, I eventually sought out a new challenge that allowed me to be at home more.

I specialise in C# programming and finance management, with a career that has spanned various roles, from delivering TVs and VCRs in London to fixing AV systems, project managing installations and programming everything from remotes to full AV systems. I also taught Crestron programming across the EMEA region and advocated for Crestron Service Providers. My expertise lies in system design and enterprise solutions. Colleagues might describe me as logical and sarcastic, always bringing a bit of dry humour to the team.
Real Life
Outside of work, my interests include motorbikes and airsoft, both hobbies I share with my adult son. Motorbikes give me a pure sense of escapism that you just don’t get from a car, and I enjoy the scene and the people. Airsoft brings a community spirit that I love, and I get satisfaction from welcoming new people and sharing what I’ve learned. When it comes to stress, my approach is simple, deal with what is right in front of me and work my way out of the situation step-by-step. My ambition is to take more time to enjoy life and focus on comfort in the here and now, before life throws its next curveball.

Before joining Lucid, I worked as an Engineering Technician, a tutor at Stephenson College and held multiple roles at Quadrant Visual Solutions. My experience also includes freelance work as an event technician across audio, lighting and projection. I enjoy working on challenging projects with a talented team. My passion for the AV industry stems from the constant opportunities for creativity and innovation. Being part of a skilled and collaborative team drives my commitment to excellence, and I aim to continue building on our strong client relationships while ensuring a supportive work environment for the team.
I specialise in system design with extensive expertise in audio and Digital Signal Processing (DSP). My career began in electrical engineering, evolving into a passion for audiovisual (AV) systems. From event management to control system programming, my hands-on technical knowledge is paired with a client-focused approach, ensuring tailored solutions for every project. I’m proud to have contributed to award-winning projects and to have been part of Lucid’s growth from the start.
I enjoy countryside walks, particularly when the weather is favourable, and I am an avid follower of Formula 1, particularly the engineering and strategic elements of the sport.

In addition to supporting our Blueprint control software platform, I am currently developing custom solutions for an interactive games experience for one of our clients. Outside of work, I’m passionate about health, wellbeing and nutrition. I enjoy walking, swimming and weight training to stay fit. I also like journaling and exploring how our interactions with one another shape who we are.

I focus on framework and driver development for control systems. My current work involves our Blueprint system, which is designed to be platform agnostic and easily configurable for all clients. With over 17 years of experience in control systems, I previously worked as an advanced technical support engineer for Crestron, gaining in-depth knowledge of their technology. I enjoy staying active through dancing bachata and salsa, as well as swimming, running and DIY. Dancing allows me to socialise, progress in a skill and stay healthy.

As a Senior Software Engineer and Partner at Lucid, I’m a key resource for technically complex requests, responsible for the company’s internal and external documentation. I’m currently leading the development of the scoring, admission and team management system for GoQuest, an indoor challenge zone game complex in Dublin. My career spans diverse roles, from my early days in NHS Radiotherapy and EMI Recording Studios to programming and product design in Geneva with LEM S.A., and later Yamaha, Electrosonic and AVMI. I joined Lucid in 2016, initially as a part-time expert, and grew into a full-time Partner as my role evolved. I like that my role gives me a lot of autonomy, it never feels corporate, and I’m always challenged creatively.

My expertise lies in solution vision, product design and creating complex algorithms and architectures. At heart, I’m an engineer first and a programmer second. Over the years, I’ve mastered everything from equipment servicing and audio installations to programming full AV systems. My strengths are in analysis, logic and meticulous attention to detail. I’m proud of how my career naturally progressed to focus on complex code models and communications. I take pride in developing code that covers more use cases with fewer lines and I thrive on tackling the hardest problems.

Over the years I have sailed yachts, flown planes, hiked mountains and written music. For me, engineering is the perfect blend of imagination and technical ability, where I get to create complex systems that you can neither see, hear, nor touch.
