Lucid

Real Experience

I am a Product Designer at Lucid Partnership, designing diagnostic panels, control interfaces and monitoring tools for AV systems and smart buildings. My work focuses on making complex systems clear and usable by putting user needs first. I am currently leading the redesign of the main user interface across the Lucid product range and building a new company-wide design system from scratch.

Before joining Lucid, I worked agency-side and in-house on large-scale digital projects for various organisations, including EDF Energy, the Department for Work and Pensions and Vodafone. I was looking for a role that combined strategic product design with complex, real-world systems, and Lucid’s work in smart buildings and AV control was a natural fit. I value the fact that we solve real problems within a genuinely collaborative and ego-free team culture.

Real Expertise

My expertise lies in user-centred product design for complex diagnostic and control interfaces. This includes design systems, user flows, journey mapping, user research and high-craft UI design in technical environments. I started my career in graphic design and branding before moving into digital and then full product design, which gave me a strong foundation in both systems thinking and attention to detail.

I have worked on enterprise and government projects before moving into a specialised product design role within the building automation and AV industry at Lucid. While I do not have individual awards to highlight, my work has contributed to award-winning client projects. I am most proud of shipping products that genuinely help people solve real problems. Colleagues would describe me as calm under pressure, thorough, systems-minded, highly collaborative and someone who consistently raises the standard of work.

Real Life

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, birding and spending time in nature, DJing, listening to music and reading. These interests help me reset and bring balance. Birding encourages total presence, travelling offers new perspectives, DJing provides creative flow and reading feeds my curiosity and love of ideas.

I have learned a great deal from mentors along the way, including creative directors who taught me strategic rigour and engineering leads who helped me understand technical constraints. When things become stressful, I involve the right people early and communicate clearly. My ambition is to continue raising the standard of diagnostic and control interfaces in the automation industry, grow into a design leadership role and mentor future designers at Lucid and beyond.
